Champagne, Confetti and Congrats...

to Lois Winston, whose Talk Gertie to Me is in bookstores now, for making her second sale.
Dorchester is buying the romantic suspense with a release date sometime in late 2007. The book originally came to life as her very first writing attempt--a 50,000 word romance that spanned 35 years. It went through a decade of major revisions and three title changes but she loved the characters and story and kept coming back to them until, as Lois says, "I finally got it right."

Wahoo, Lois! That's fabulous news! Many, many congratulations!

And it gives me hope for that manuscript I have collecting dust on the closet shelf. It's set in a fictional city, there are no sex scenes, and they were still using Xacto knives to edit the newspaper where the heroine worked but, hey, a little updating and maybe it too could show up in print someday. LOL
